In 2016, Sophia graduated from the St Joost School of Art & Design with the short fiction film ‘Niet dat ik van je hou’. Since then, she has been involved in various film projects and gradually discovered her passion for the documentary field. In 2021 she directed her first documentary named ‘Everest’ (6 min), a short poetic film about the abstract act of ‘gathering courage’, which premiered at the Nederlands Film Festival. Sophia enjoys tackling abstract themes and portrays them through intimate and small-scale human stories.
