Director

Guido Hendrikx

Guido Hendrikx (1987) was born and raised in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. After spending some years at an international secondary school (Bilingual Atheneum program) he prematurely quit his medical science study (Leiden University, 2006) to work and study abroad. Returning to The Netherlands he studied Liberal Arts & Sciences (Utrecht University, 2007), focussing on courses in philosphy, criminology, film studies, and journalism. In 2010 he directed his first short film Day is Done which premiered at IDFA. Parallely he enrolled at the Netherlands Film Academy to study Directing Documentary. As a student he directed the internationally acclaimed, award-winning shorts Escort (2013, Oscar Qualifier) and Onder Ons (2014) and co-writed the script for the short fiction Fernweh (2014, Ena Sendijarevic).
