The film Laga offers a unique insight into the world of the rowing student through a number of characters. The race and preparing for the most important competition of their careers. The rules of rowing prevail on the water. On land, the rules of the sorority rule in preparation for a life in society. And while there are similarities between the worlds, they also differ in important ways. In both, the participants are fully committed.

Lisa Boerstra
Lisa Boerstra grew up in Curaçao and Aruba, went to school there and speaks fluent Papiamento. She made her graduation film Dushi, about the women of Curaçao, the back of the story of the drug swallowers that we know from the newspaper. Before going to film academy, she studied art history at the University of Amsterdam. She made her first full-length film about the artist twins Liesbeth and Angelique Raeven: L.A. Raeven – Beyond Imagination. The film was screened in the competitions of various international festivals, including Chicago, Edingburgh and IDFA.
